Glock now offers four versions of this pistol: the standard Model 30 (the original), the 30SF (around the lower frame for easier access), the 30S you see here (a thin strip on an SF frame) and the Glock 30 Gen4 .
Experiment with placing the pad inside the belt between the 4 and 3 o'clock positions (for lefties try the 9 to 8 range) to determine what works best for your comfort.
Gen4 Glocks feature a new grip mesh, recoil spring assembly, larger magazine catch and adjustable recoil and rear. All 30s are practically the same gun, offering the 10+1 capacity of the .45 Auto in a smaller but sturdier package.
The unloaded 30S weighs 20.28 ounces. Loaded it weighs 30.16 ounces. Hard data aside, the gun never feels heavy in the hand or in the holster. In fact, it is very well balanced and, depending on the holster, is relatively easy to carry for long periods of time.
Gear Review: Glock Sport Combat Holster
The size and weight of the Glock 30S does not allow you to carry it in your pocket or in your holster. Although it is relatively small and light, it is not that small or light. The laws of physics and common sense all but dictate that this weapon be carried inside or outside the waist belt.
As with most wraps, carrying the inside of the belt increases concealment at the expense of some comfort. While this is generally true of the Glock 30S, carrying it in the holster inside the belt demonstrated the benefits of this pistol's relatively light weight. Although there are smaller handguns available, few can boast of being chambered in .45 Auto with a 10+1 capacity.
Therefore, the main issue (the bullet being aimed) for the Glock 30S becomes a matter of being able to carry the most in concealed firepower. Think: 10+1 is a good number of rounds in each caliber for concealed carry. 10+1 of .45 Auto is really heavy duty. With 230-grain self-defense bullets tucked in your belt, that's already 2,530 point-blank bullet slots.
Carrying a fat Glock 30S inside the waist in the Galco Scout holster, a relatively thick holster, didn't feel like you were trying to hide a small animal on your leg, but felt really good and carried well.
Glock 30s With Olight Pl Mini 2 Valkyrie Holster
The High Noon Slide Guard Holster for the Glock 30S is a good match for shooters who like the gun to be mounted outside of their pants and on their belt for quick access.
If carrying the Glock 30S inside the belt doesn't work, then carrying it outside the belt is probably the best way to go. Although it is slightly less hidden than the inside of the belt, it is definitely more comfortable.
The High Noon Slide Protector was on duty for this part of the review, wrapping the Glock 30S in high quality cowhide leather while securely attached to my belt. As a new, custom made leather shoe—all High Noon Slide Guard shoes are—it featured some new, custom leather shoe trends, with a very tight fit for the gun and belt.
The High Noon Slide protector seemed to hide the Glock 30S at 4 o'clock the best, just like the Galco Scout. With the off-center band screw in this position, my concern was less about hiding the stock and more about hiding the back of the slide, which had the most left. Fastening my belt helped with another rip, but in the end the best concealment came from an untucked T-shirt or a casual unbuttoned shirt.
Glock 30 Sneaky Pete Holster
In the series, the Glock 30S proved to be the best of the bunch. Every round of my Winchester PDX-1 self-defense ammunition fed, fired, and fired properly. So the Remington and HPR .45 Auto is what I shoot. In fact, just to make things interesting, I loaded a magazine with two or three of each type of round, step by step, to try to drop the 30S and cause a feel. No problems.
Shooting a paper silhouette target only 10 yards away and using standard Glock sights, a sharp hole soon appeared as soft as a ball. Most of the rest of the tours will go through this opening.
The more robust construction of the 30S contributed to good grip while in the field and handled recoil well, making it a very comfortable gun to shoot.
In a sense, the Glock 30S is big, pushing the limits of what can reasonably be considered "sub-compact." In other words, the Glock 30S is a marvel: How else can you comfortably conceal a handgun with 10 + 1 rounds of .45 Auto? While there are smaller, lighter guns available, they may not have the capability or reputation of the Glock 30S.

Finally, the Glock 30S is not only a capable pistol with plenty of onboard capacity, but also, in holsters like the Galco Scout or High Noon Slide Guard, a very comfortable carry.
